About Dr. Bleck

Devoted to HealingA Life Devoted to Healing

Robert Bleck's work began with his own experience of childhood abuse. Growing up in an environment where he was frequently beaten, degraded, and emotionally harmed, he spent much of early life trying to understand and survive the pain he was experiencing. By age nine, he had developed a strong sense of empathy for others who were suffering and this shaped the direction of his life toward a career in psychology.

After earning his PhD in counseling, Robert began working with individuals who had experienced significant emotional trauma. Over time, he noticed a recurring pattern: many therapeutic approaches helped people recognize painful experiences from their past, but they did not always help resolve the emotional impact of those experiences. People could describe what had happened to them, but the feelings connected to those events often remained. Through both his personal healing process and his work with clients, Robert began developing a structured method that focused on identifying the source of emotional pain and completing the response that had been interrupted when the injury occurred. This process became Source Completion Therapy. At the center of that approach is a simple question that helps people trace their emotional reactions back to their origin: Who Hurt You?

By identifying the source of the pain and completing the emotional process connected to it, individuals can release feelings they may have carried for decades and begin living without the past shaping their reactions.

How Source Completion Therapy Works

The three phases of Source Completion Therapy (SCT) are designed to cleanse and heal from emotional wounds permanently, moving beyond symptom management to root-cause resolution.

1. Awareness

Explore, examine, and become aware of the main source of dysfunctional behavior through body awareness and dream interpretation.

2. Release

Re-experience events and trauma in a safe way, using visualization and self-hypnosis.

3. Completion

The purging process completes. Learn to directly and effectively confront those responsible for pain in present interactions.

Believing that we all suffer from at least some emotional wounds as a result of our past experiences, Dr. Bleck set out to devise a recovery aid for coming to terms with those past hurts.

Give Back the Pain is a book that takes us on a journey of personal exploration and emotional healing, grounded in the theory that we can only break free of the disabling effects of our hurts if we become fully aware of their true origins.
